iPhone Dev- team has just released Redsn0w 0.9.10b6 to bring tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1 for non A5 idevices. Apple released iOS 5.1 firmware along with new iPad. Yesterday there was no jailbreak solution available for the iOS 5.1 firmware but now iPhone Dev-team released an update of Redsn0w 0.9.10b6 which brings jailbreak solution for iOS 5.1 firmware. But this jailbreak is tethered which means that you will have to connect your iOS device to your computer every time you want to reboot.
According to release notes:
With all of that in mind, we realize that some of you non-A5 jailbreakers are itching to get to 5.1, even though there seems to be no compelling new feature there. Because of geohot’s limera1n exploit, those with devices earlier than the iPad2 can test the 5.1 jailbreak waters if they really want to, using redsn0w 0.9.10b6.
Redsn0w 0.9.10b6 tethered jailbreak support following iDevices models; iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G and iPad 1G. The A5 devices iPad 2, the new iPAd and iPhone 4S are not supported by this version.
