Downgrade iOS 6.0.1 to iOS 5.1.1 Firmware: Previously we discuss about the possibilities of downgrading from iOS 6.0.1 to iOS 5.1.1 firmware and saving the SHSH blobs for future use. In case you have by mistake or accidentally updated to iOS 6.0.1 firmware and stuck there waiting for Untethered Jailbreak and now want to downgrade to lower iOS firmware, then now you can downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 firmware to get Untethered Jailbreak and unlock via ultrasn0w.
Downgrading from iOS 6.0.1 firmware to iOS 5.1.1 firmware is only possible if you have saved the SHSH Blobs and APTickets. Also this downgrade guide is only meant for A4 iDevices i.e. iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4G only. Users who rely on Ultrasn0w unlock must use custom iOS firmware to avoid any baseband up-gradation which Ultrasn0w does not support at the time.
How To Downgrade From iOS 6.0.1 to iOS 5.1.1 On A4 Device For Untethered Jailbreak
Things you need to download first:
Download RedSn0w 0.9.15b3 for Windows & Mac OS X
Download iPhone or iPod Touch iOS 5.1.1 Firmware Files
Step 1: Now open up RedSn0w and run it as administrator in Windows.
Step 2: Connect your iPhone or iPod Touch to your computer through USB and place it into DFU mode by following the instructions below.
Hold down Power (corner) button for 5 seconds.
Without releasing the Power button, also hold down the Home (bottom center) button along with the Power button for 10 seconds.
Without releasing the home button, stop holding down the power button for up to 15 seconds.
Step 3: RedSn0w should now recognize your iPhone or iPod Touch in DFU mode. Click the Extras>Even More>Restore button.
Step 4: Now you have to select the firmware files you have downloaded from the above posted links.
NOTE: If you have an unlocked iPhone make sure you click Yes to preventing a baseband update.
Once you have done this RedSn0w will prompt you to enter Pwned DFU mode.
Click the Ok button, if you already in DFU mode hen process will start automatically otherwise you should enter Pwned DFU mode by following the on-screen instructions.
Step 5: When you are successfully in DFU mode RedSn0w will try to begin locating your saved SHSH Blobs on Cydia’s server. If it fails then you can try scanning for them again or locate them manually on your computer. Once the correct SHSH Blobs have been located, RedSn0w will begin the downgrade process and you will just need to sit back until it is complete.
Once the restore process completes then next step is to Jailbreak your A4 iDevice Untethered on iOS 5.1.1 firmware by following one of our guides by posted here.
