Recover iPhone, iPod OR iPad’s Passcode With Gecko iPhone Toolkit [Guide]

Setting a passcode is the only way to secure your iPhone and you can set security passcode from your iPhone’s But if you forgot your iPhone passcode then despite the advantages of passcode it will be really frustrating situation for you . The recovering of lost passcode is not a easy task but there are two ways to recover it. One is to Bypass & Reset the iPhone passcode and second one is recover passcode using Gecko iPhone Toolkit. We are going to post step by step guides to recover forgotten Passcode using these two methods below.

Recover iPhone, iPod Or iPad’s Passcode With Gecko iPhone Toolkit

Recover the Passcode by using iPhone recovery mode:

This method will require you to restore your iPhone or iPod touch, this means you’ll lose all data on the device and be back to factory settings.
Step 1: Connect the USB cable to your Mac/PC but don’t connect other end to your iPhone.
Step 2: Start up iTunes on your Mac/PC.
Step 3: Press and hold the Home and Power button on the top of the iPhone to turn off the device
Step 4: Press and continue to hold the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to your iPhone to turn it on.
Step 5:Continue to hold the Home button until iTunes message will appears that an iPhone in recovery mode has been detected
Step 6 : Now your iPhone is in recovery mode, From iTunes, Click on the “Restore” button within iTunes

Restore process will take some so be patience and it will wipe all of your previous files and setting including your passcode. Once restore process done your iPhone will become at factory setting or default setting status.

Recover the Passcode using Gecko iPhone Toolkit:

Another working method to recover iDevices forgotten passcode is using Gecko iPhone Toolkit. Gecko iPhone Toolkit is a small utility which recovers your forgotten passcode. Gecko iPhone Toolkit utility works on limra1n exploit and support all non A5 devices : iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 ,  iPod Touch 3G,  iPod Touch 4G  and iPad 1.

Things you need to download first: 

  • Download  Gecko iPhone Toolkit from here
  • Download  Microsoft .NET 4.0 from here
  • Download  iOS Firmware for your iPhone from here

Step 1: If Microsoft .NET 4 framework is already installed on your PC then you will be able to run Gecko iPhone Toolkit otherwise you will have to download it and install on your PC.

Step 2: Connect USB cable to your PC and other end to your iPhone. Now Run Gecko iPhone Toolkit and select your device and click “Boot”

Gecko iPhone Toolkit  so make sure you download and install .Net 4.0 before you run Gecko iPhone Toolkit.

Step 3: You will be prompt to select your iOS firmware file, browse your iOS firmware file and click on OK.

Step 4: After selecting your firmware you will see a familiar redn0w jailbreak window and this is the point when you should put your iPhone in DFU mode. To enter DFU Mode follow these instruction;

  • Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
  • Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds

Step 5: You will see another pop up window which will warm not to diconnect your iPhone while it’s cracking your passcode, click “OK”
Step 6: After this you will see some process running on the screen and after some time you will see your recovered passcode at the bottom of the screen shown below:

Step 7: Now disconnect your iPhone and reset it to get it out of DFU mode. That’s it you have successfully recovered your forgotten passcode and now you will see screen asking you to enter passcode and enter the 4 digit passcode which you noted from the above screen.
